We’re looking to build a consortium of users for a curated database of college statistics and numbers that help families, students (and counselors) quickly compare and contrast salient details about colleges, including academic accessibility.
>> Click here to view last year’s College Statistics Database.
Here’s how available numbers can tell a story:
- How many undergrads on campus?
- How many are from out of state?
- What is the class size like? Lots of lectures? No classes over 50?
- How much diversity is present? International students?
- Campus life: How many live on campus? Participate in Greek life?
- What’s the 4 year graduation rate? How does that compare to the national average?
- What’s the freshman retention rate (happiness factor)?
- What’s the cost?
- What’s the acceptance rate and average grades and scores for this school – is it a “Very Likely”, “Target” or “Reach”?
Letting numbers tell the story of how competitive a school is can help a counselor avoid being the bearer of difficult news!
If you’re interested in using these data strings for a large collection of popular colleges and universities, please contact me.
“I use the database when I present a college list to students and families, knowing that the information is current and vetted. Families often want to know the number of undergrads on a campus, the acceptance rate, and other important metrics. Additionally, I use the database as an easy reference on my desktop.”
